Science vocabulary prompts

Some scientific thinking and vocabulary prompts to go on a science display board, scientific language is always important for experiments and more. I know from my own experience I have to always model the use of ‘in conclusion…’ ‘because…’ ‘the data shows…’ these will go with each science topic so can stay up all year and hopefully the children will internalise the language and thinking and start using it in their science lessons when writing and talking!

Spelling resources

Interactive spelling display resources🖍🖌 I made some cards that include an activity for the children to do with their spelling list, a word search with the most commonly misspelt words and ‘write your own sentences’ with all the statutory year 4 spellings (which could be adapted for any year group and their spellings)

This could be used for all types of education with spellings :)

Pokemon Science Investigation

In this Pokémon-themed science investigation, learners classify 20 Pokémon according to observable characteristics, then record features such as body covering, wings, tail, colour, number of legs and habitat. The completed data can then be used to create frequency tables and graphs, identify patterns, compare groups and discuss which characteristics may be inherited.

I haven't included any images of the Pokemon because that is copyright but if you to their website, I just took pictures off there and printed off a load for my learner :)

Each pencil has each stage of our writing process and what happens in each to help children know and internalise the way we write something.

Maths Overview

This is a maths curriculum overview for years 1-6. It includes the main parts of the NC, the white rose guidance links and the NCETM maths mastery assessment document.

Science Overview

Science overview for years 1-6, that includes all the NC requirements for each each group and a table which shows each scientific topic (colour coded) and what year groups it is introduced in and taught in.

English Overview

An English overview for years 1-6, that includes the NC statements, links to different websites for each group, and a list of websites that could be used for a few different key stages and year groups for all kinds of objectives.

Mindfulness Jar

A template for children to be used to fill out with things that make them happy, things that they are calm when they are doing etc. This will then be used a remember, when needed, of what makes them happier.
